Russell Medical Center (RMC) has a long history of caring for its patients in targeted ways. This beautiful, close-knit community is blessed with successful, home grown entrepreneurs and leaders who are dedicated to the medical center and its mission. Russell Medical Center's Health Park includes the main hospital, an urgent care facility on the property, and a freestanding cancer center, developed in partnership with the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) statewide cancer partnership program, allowing for care close to home and advancing opportunities for physician recruitment.

Recently completed projects have resulted from extensive master planning and site review for the next phases of consequential development to include the Benjamin Russell Center for Advanced Care, a new Assisted Living facility, and a cluster of Independent Living cottages as well as the Pearl Serenity Garden, completed in 2023, to honor the Bruce Pearl Family Foundation.
The first phase, the Benjamin Russell Center for Advanced Care, was conceived to bring a high level of geriatric care to the community. Designed on a visible portion of RMC's expansive campus, the center, structurally engineered to house four stories, will rise originally with two levels, capturing approximately 36,000 square feet. The facility will provide space for cardiology, geriatric programs, physician offices, and women's health.

The center also will offer accoutrements for conducting the hospital's telemedicine services, programmed for even more patient convenience and cost efficiency.
Future phases will see through to completion the assisted living facility and the independent living cottages.
