Paul, whose experience spans more than 30 years, joined TRO Jung | Brannen more than 20 years ago and immediately became responsible for the firm’s design reviews on all projects, a role he has served well given the firm’s passion and commitment to design excellence. Of particular note has been Paul’s recent experience with planning and designing cancer centers and children’s and women’s projects with both private and public sector clients. Away from the office, Paul enjoys studying and driving automobiles and spending time with his wife, children, and granddaughter.

Grady has more than 40 years of architectural experience and is skilled in design, production and management. Grady’s focus is on managing a client’s entire building program, beginning with current conditions analyses and graduating to campus improvements and growth through designing both new and renovation projects. He is experienced with design of healthcare facilities, in almost every conceivable specialized space within hospitals and clinics, and senior living projects which often round out the continuum of care a healthcare system provider may seek to offer. Grady has also added to the firm’s portfolio of commercial design projects. Away from the office, Grady pursues his interests in philosophy and music.

John McDaniel joined TRO Jung|Brannen more than a decade ago, and once on board, was immediately assigned to help with design and coordination of one of the firm’s largest and most complex projects, the Al Sabah Hospital in Kuwait which spanned continents and cultures. Since then, John has proven to be as effective a team member on all other projects, both large and small, including a Cancer Center, Inpatient Beds expansion, Surgical and critical care wing, Emergency Department, and other hospital campus facilities. John also has taken on an operations leadership role assuming responsibilities for the staff's continuing education.

Lisa is a planner and interior designers with more than 25 years of professional healthcare design experience, highlighted most recently by more than a decade in an academic medical center setting. Her career has involved working in both architecture firms and healthcare facilities where she was engaged in planning and design in projects of all types and sizes including medical student education and related public spaces, acute care, and ambulatory spaces. Lisa supports an evidence-based design framework for all projects and encourages a participatory design process with design team and end users to ensure shared ownership, a positive patient experience, and project success. With a master’s degree in cultural studies, Lisa has developed a keen awareness for healthcare design that not only supports healing, but is also sensitive to the diverse multi-cultural and socio-economic populations that are served in healthcare settings. Lisa currently serves as the founding Alabama Chapter president of Women in Healthcare (WIH).

Scott joined the TRO Jung|Brannen team bringing experience with tenant space planning in a variety of project types. In his time at TRO JB, Scott has quickly become a leader and a valuable asset to the firm, contributing to several key projects, both large and small. Scott enjoys resolving challenging construction and development scenarios and utilizing advanced software technologies that enhance the design experience. Scott is adept at communication with staff and clients, bringing expertise with visualization tools that translate the owner's vision and the architect's design into virtual experiences of the space. This capability can help inform important decisions and save time and resources. Scott currently serves on the American Heart Association’s Hard Hats for Hart Committee.

Jason Hebert is a 23-year team member with TRO Jung|Brannen. Building on his background and skill as a designer and craftsman, Jason is responsible for design, planning, and interior detailing on many of TRO JB's projects. His experience on healthcare projects range in size from small tenant fit-up and renovations to large, complex hospital additions. He has had a hand in nearly every TRO JB project. Jason also has experience in freestanding senior living facilities and recent work has developed his experience in behavioral health facilities planning and design. Jason currently serves as the founding Alabama Chapter president of the Association of Medical Facilities Professionals (AMFP).

John Loglisci, one of the firm's leading Project Designers, relocated to Birmingham and joined TRO Jung|Brannen in 2016. John has been responsible through all levels of the architectural process, including client relations, team coordination, code reviews, variance applications and approvals, specification writing, contracts, and shop drawing review among other things. John's attention to detail is a valuable resource in every project assignment, and his confidence and desire to achieve the best work for our clients makes him a member with whom others want to work.

 

John's work has included design on everything from inpatient bed towers to outpatient clinics and diagnostics. He has strong relationships with our colleagues and partners including consulting engineers and contractors who round out service delivery project teams.

Ekaterina, one of the firm’s detail-oriented Project Designers, joined TRO Jung|Brannen in 2021 after relocating from Moscow. She contributes across all stages of the design process, from schematic design and construction documentation to BIM coordination and consultant support. Known for her ability to meet deadlines, produce high-quality graphics, and troubleshoot technical issues, Ekaterina plays a key role in keeping projects moving efficiently and beautifully.

 

Her responsibilities include developing drawings in Revit and AutoCAD, creating presentation materials in Adobe Illustrator, assisting with consultant coordination via BIM360, and launching Revit models from scratch for new projects. She has contributed to major healthcare designs, including the Taylor Hardin Behavioral Health facility and the East Alabama Medical Center’s West Pavilion expansion.

 

In addition to her project work, Ekaterina supports the firm’s DEI and outreach initiatives as a creative volunteer for the Women in Healthcare organization, designing promotional materials and event graphics. Her blend of technical precision, aesthetic sensibility, and collaborative spirit makes her an indispensable part of the team.

Cleo Kathryn has spent more than 20 of her 30 years professional experience in the design and construction industry, as TRO Jung | Brannen’s leader in marketing and business development. She has helped to organize the firm’s portfolio and has led proposal and presentation teams to new work. She has long been committed to client relationships and immersing herself into her work with our staff and the firm’s strategic partners. Cleo Kathryn is a past president of the American College of Healthcare Professionals (ACHE) and currently sits on the City of Mountain Brook’s Village Design Review Committee.

Dick joined TRO Jung | Brannen in 1991 and has spent most of his career with the firm providing design services and managing projects for healthcare and senior living clients. While managing multiple regional projects, Dick has also managed human resources in the Birmingham office since 2002 and in 2016 was named Managing Principal. He has nurtured the planning and development of projects through several comprehensive Master Plans, including in-state and regional clients. Dick has also completed work on the international stage through a large hospital project assignment with a middle eastern design partner in Kuwait City. He has extensive experience in healthcare programming, master planning and design of complex acute care projects, oncology and senior living projects. Dick particularly enjoys collaborating with clients, user groups and other stakeholders to take the complexity of programmatic needs and translate them into an efficient well thought out plan. On a personal note, Dick seeks to weave his faith into everything he does. He spends time with his wife and family, and plays competitive tennis.

Doug McCurry has over 44 years experience in the Architecture and Construction industry, and 38 years experience in the design of healthcare projects with some of the nation’s leading healthcare firms. As a principal with TRO Jung|Brannen, Doug serves in a variety of roles related to project design, planning, and management, including coordination of all disciplines, schedule and budget compliance, and specification writing. His project experience includes Medical Office, Ambulatory Outpatient Surgery, Oncology, Physical Therapy, and Diagnostic and Occupational Medicine Centers. Doug has experience in all phases of the architectural and construction process, including business development, management of client relationships, project design and management, programming, equipment planning, master planning, design, presentations, cost estimating, construction documentation, project specifications, construction administration and coordination of architect-builder relationships. His responsibilities have also included mentorship of intern architects in construction techniques, materials and methods, and document organization.

Hal Starkey joined TRO Jung|Brannen in 1985 after several years practicing architecture and foodservice consulting. Hal served in a leadership role in the firm with his broad base of healthcare experience that includes programming, planning and design for hospital departments that include diagnostic imaging, cardiac cath labs, inpatient and outpatient surgery, surgical and coronary care intensive care units, medical/surgical nursing units, adult and geriatric psychiatric units, emergency departments, newborn and neonatal care nurseries, women’s services and numerous hospital support services departments. In addition, Hal served as a resource for all TRO Jung|Brannen teams engaged in foodservice planning and design. Hal’s interests outside the office include photography, calligraphy, music and scuba diving in the Florida Keys.
