Cullman Regional Medical

Center Emergency Department

PROJECT DETAILS

Cullman Regional Medical Center, a greenfield replacement hospital TRO Jung|Brannen designed almost twenty years ago, has continued to grow and evolve, meeting demands for both inpatient and outpatient services. The emergency department project, completed early in 2011, is just one of many projects TRO Jung|Brannen has designed over two decades to help CRMC satisfy their mission.

The existing 8,800 square foot emergency department was increased to 13,480 square feet, bringing the total exams rooms to 24 beds, thereby increasing capacity. Existing exam rooms were increased by 50% of their original size, and fast track rooms were added in the new construction. The project included relocating trauma, along with a chest pain center, and a stroke center. In an effort to see ED Express Care Nurses Station Lobby patients quickly, the triage process was revised and an “express care” nurses’ station was provided. A new lobby was designed to add more seating for visitors and to include space for family waiting.
